ThunderFace 4K Duo+ combines input and output into a single device, eliminating the need for separate capture cards and output hardware.
It is designed for professional film and broadcast workflows where predictable signal handling, frame-accurate metadata, standard output frame rates, and low-latency monitoring are required.
Features
SDI Inputs & Outputs
Simply by flashing firmware, ThunderFace can switch between output-only and input/output modes. Output mode provides eight HD or two Ultra HD outputs, while input/output mode enables four HD inputs and outputs or two UHD inputs and outputs.
Single-Cable Connection
ThunderFace connects to your host device using a single cable that provides video, audio, and control data transfer. Additionally, in the case of a MacBook Pro or an iPad Pro, it also charges your host device with a 60W power delivery standard.
iPad Pro Compatibility
A unique design enables direct connection to iPad Pro, turning it into a professional video monitor and recorder. When paired with the free QTAKE Monitor app, it enables multi-camera Ultra HD capture and playback with no ongoing license fees.
Zero-Latency Processing
ThunderFace converts the DisplayPort output of the computer directly to the SDI signal, without internal buffering. In this mode, SDI outputs are limited to the same frequency, but video output is delivered with the lowest possible delay.
Metadata Support
In addition to video and audio content, ThunderFace device captures and outputs metadata over each SDI channel, including LTC and VITC timecode, camera positioning data for VFX, as well as Dolby Vision and HDR metadata.
Silent Active Cooling
An innovative, whisper-quiet fan from the iconic Noctua brand is integrated within the user-replaceable part of the chassis to keep the device running at low temperatures even with the most demanding dual 4Kp60 setup.
